Description
Alta Mora Etna Rosso DOC 2020 captures the volcanic heart of Sicily, produced by the Cusumano family since founding Alta Mora in 2013 to showcase Etna's ancient terroir. The wine is made entirely from Nerello Mascalese, hand-picked from high-altitude vineyards on Etna's northern slopes, rooted in mineral-rich black lava soils at Contrada Verzella and Feudo di Mezzo. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation in large neutral barrels to retain freshness while building subtle structure. No new oak influences the profile, keeping focus on Etna's signature aromas of wild red berry, pomegranate, smoke, and dried herbs. Polished tannins and vibrant acidity frame the palate, making this a compelling, food-friendly red with energy and typicity. This Etna Rosso excels alongside grilled lamb, Sicilian pork sausages, or wild mushroom risotto, and will gain savoury depth with short-term cellaring.
