Description
Las Parcelas is a flagship expression of Bideona's commitment to micro-terroir and field blending, sourced from a mosaic of old Tempranillo parcels - many over 50 years of age - scattered across the villages of Villabuena, Samaniego and Leza. Each site is farmed with an eye to biodiversity and minimal intervention, capturing the complexity and energy of Rioja Alavesa's finest terroirs. Grapes are hand-harvested, then undergo wild fermentation with a high proportion of whole berries in a mix of stainless steel and concrete, preserving primary fruit while encouraging gentle tannin extraction. The wine is aged 6-12 months in a nuanced regime of stainless steel, concrete, and a careful selection of new and seasoned French oak barrels, allowing subtle evolution without overshadowing the fruit. The finished Tinto is defined by aromas of wild strawberry, ripe red plum, black tea, and balsamic herbs, with a palate that is both juicy and refined, showing supple tannins and vibrant, chalky acidity. The finish is long and savoury, underpinned by the limestone soils. Las Parcelas offers a snapshot of Rioja's diversity and is an ideal partner for tapas, charcuterie, or roasted meats.
