Description
Champagne Jacquart was founded in 1964 as a collective of vine growers who sought to champion their own cuvées and now unites dozens of growers across more than 300 hectares. The Mosaïque Brut NV encapsulates this cooperative spirit by combining Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from a mosaic of Premier and Grand Cru villages across the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Grapes are harvested by hand; primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel and malolactic conversion is allowed, resulting in a supple base wine. Reserve wines from several prior vintages make up roughly a third of the blend, providing depth and consistency. After tirage, the wine ages for about three years on lees before disgorgement with a Brut dosage. Bottled at 12% alcohol under cork, the Mosaïque displays a bright straw colour and persistent mousse. Aromas of citrus, apple and white peach mingle with notes of brioche and hazelnut. The palate is well balanced with creamy texture, refreshing acidity and a chalky finish. This versatile Champagne is enjoyable now but will evolve over three to five years.
