Description
Founded in 2001 by Spain's Raventós family in the foothills of Mendoza's Andes, Bodega Septima draws on both European tradition and Argentine terroir, cultivating estate vineyards at altitude to highlight varietal character and regional identity. The 2023 Malbec comes from carefully selected Mendoza parcels, with grapes hand-harvested in the cool of early morning to ensure freshness and purity. Fermentation is conducted in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, using gentle extraction to emphasise fruit and minimise harsh tannin. The wine then undergoes six months' maturation in French oak barrels, imparting a touch of spice and supporting structure without overwhelming the Malbec's natural vibrancy. In the glass, this release displays aromas of ripe black plum, dark cherry, and subtle floral notes, while the palate is medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, polished tannins, and a lingering finish marked by hints of cocoa and gentle oak, offering versatility for immediate enjoyment or short-term cellaring.
