Description
Founded in 2001 by Spain's Raventos family, Bodega Septima unites European know-how with Mendoza's diverse terroir, using estate vineyards and a focus on balance. The 2023 Obra Reserva Malbec is produced from carefully selected parcels in Mendoza, with grapes hand-harvested and sorted to ensure optimum quality. After destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with gentle extraction and extended maceration to develop depth and complexity. The wine is then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, integrating structure and subtle spice without masking varietal character. In the glass, it reveals concentrated aromas of ripe blackberry, black plum, and violet, accented by notes of cocoa and vanilla from barrel ageing. The palate is plush and full-bodied, framed by polished tannins and fresh acidity, delivering a persistent finish with well-integrated oak - a Malbec suitable for pairing with robust dishes or cellaring over the next several years.
