    • Description

Founded in 2002 by Ernesto Catena, a leader in Mendoza's biodynamic movement, Ernesto Catena Vineyards cultivates high-altitude sites with a focus on purity and sustainable practice. The 2022 Mara di Uco Pinot Noir is sourced from estate blocks in the Uco Valley, where cool nights and varied soils yield grapes with vibrant acidity and refined aromatics. Grapes are hand-harvested at dawn, destemmed, and fermented in small stainless steel tanks with gentle punch-downs to preserve delicacy and nuance. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, mostly used, to add texture and complexity without overt wood influence. This Pinot Noir displays perfumed aromas of cherry, raspberry, and violet, with a hint of forest floor. The palate is elegant and medium-bodied, driven by bright acidity and fine tannins, finishing with minerality and a subtle spice - suited for immediate enjoyment or short cellaring.
