    • Description

Mon Cheval is a boutique Waipara estate in North Canterbury, dedicated solely to Pinot Noir from its close-planted 2.2-hectare vineyard. Mon Petit is made from the estate's younger vines, offering a lighter, fruit-driven expression designed for early approachability.

In 2015, fruit was hand-picked, destemmed and fermented in small open vats with gentle cap management to preserve delicacy and perfume. The young wine was then matured for a short period in seasoned French oak, ensuring freshness while adding subtle savoury complexity.

The finished wine is vibrant and charming, with raspberry, cherry and baking-spice notes. Supple tannins and bright acidity frame the palate, making it a graceful and versatile Waipara Pinot Noir to enjoy in its youth.
