The Gibbston Valley China Terrace Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 is a stunning expression of precision and elegance, crafted from the heart of one of the region's most intriguing vineyards. The wine opens with a restrained, mineral-driven bouquet, featuring citrus, floral notes, and subtle French vanilla, which enhance the creamy mid-palate. On the finish, mid-weight apple fruit evolves into a pithy, flinty character, adding complexity to the wine’s already impressive profile.
Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, the fruit was fermented in a mix of French barriques and puncheons, with 20% new oak. Ten months of maturation on lees imparted depth and richness, while preserving the wine’s purity and freshness. Still youthful, the wine will continue to evolve, revealing even more finesse and complexity with time.
