    • Description

Welland Old Hands Shiraz 2021 is sourced from Shiraz vines planted before 1980 on the deep, fertile soils of the Barossa Valley. The 2021 vintage fruit was hand-picked and underwent open-vat fermentation with wild yeast to enhance complexity and texture. Maturation took place over 15 months in French oak barrels, providing depth, structure and subtle spice integration. The finished wine reveals dense blackberry, mocha and earth notes, complemented by savoury spice and plush, velvety tannins. Welland, established in 2018, is committed to vineyard-driven, low-intervention winemaking, ensuring that the expression of old-vine fruit remains at the forefront. Bottled at 14.5% abv under screwcap, Old Hands Shiraz 2021 combines the concentration of mature vines with the balance and freshness typical of the region.
