Description
Te Pa 'The Reserve Collection' St Leonard's Chardonnay 2018 is a New Zealand wine from the Marlborough region. It is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the St. Leonard's vineyard, which is located in the Central Wairau Valley sub-region. The wine is a blend of barrel-fermented and stainless steel-fermented juice. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, of which 50% are new. The wine has a pale straw yellow color. The nose is complex and expressive, with aromas of apple crumble, marzipan, lemon, peach, fig, jasmine, citrus blossom, smoke, vanilla, flint, and caramel. The palate is beautifully textured, with almond, citrus rind, and spice flavors sprinkled over a core of crème brûlée. The wine is full-bodied, with a long, lingering finish.
