Description
Founded in 1812, Laurent-Perrier releases Alexandra Rose only in vintages that meet its exacting standards. The 2012 wine marries Chardonnay-driven finesse with Pinot Noir from selected Crus, with base components vinified cool in stainless steel to preserve precision. Colour and extra structure come from a measured addition of still Pinot wine, applied to shape the style without dominating, and the blend then spends an extended period on lees to build texture and harmony. Dosage remains discreet to emphasise line and clarity. In the glass the bead is fine and creamy; aromas move through vivid red berry, citrus zest and light brioche, carried by a firm, chalky thread. The palate is poised rather than opulent, acidity clean and well integrated, and the finish long and dry. Presented in a wooden gift box, this is a gastronomic rose Champagne with depth for refined pairings and the definition to evolve steadily over the mid to long term.
