Description
The Misha's Vineyard Limelight Riesling 2022 is a finely tuned expression of Central Otago Riesling that balances purity, tension and gentle sweetness. Sourced from estate vines planted in 2005 on free-draining schist soils in Bendigo, the fruit was hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and split between cool stainless-steel fermentation (61%) to preserve vibrant aromatics and indigenous fermentation in seasoned French oak (39%) to build texture and complexity. Bottled at around 10.5% ABV with approximately 28 g/L residual sugar, the wine is crafted in a medium-dry style with taut acidity and excellent balance. It opens with lifted aromas of red apple, lime blossom, quince and jasmine, accented by citrus peel and a hint of spice. The palate is pure and precise, showing flavours of citrus flesh, stone fruit and white flowers wrapped around a stony mineral core. A gentle sweetness is offset by bright, mouth-watering acidity, leading to a long, refreshing finish. Beautifully expressive on release, this Riesling will develop greater complexity and honeyed depth with cellaring to 2035.
