Description
Corofin, founded by Mike and Anna Paterson, is dedicated to crafting terroir-driven wines from Marlborough that emphasise site character through minimal intervention. The Meltwater range reflects this philosophy in a fresher, more approachable style, while remaining true to the estate's organic ethos.
For the 2024 vintage, Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from BioGro-certified vineyards in the Wairau and Omaka valleys. Grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to preserve aromatics. The wine then rested on lees for eight months, building texture and subtle complexity without obscuring varietal purity.
The finished wine is vibrant and expressive, showing passionfruit, gooseberry and lime alongside flinty mineral notes. A saline edge and long, refreshing finish give balance, making this Sauvignon Blanc both textural and finely detailed, a Marlborough classic with Corofin's distinctive stamp.
