Description
The Louis Roederer Rose Vintage 2017 is a delicate, estate-crafted rose Champagne made using a long, gentle maceration of Pinot Noir, then co-fermented with Chardonnay to ensure seamless integration. It is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay; 29% of the blend is vinified in oak casks, and about 24% undergo malolactic fermentation. The dosage is 8 g/L. The harvest ran from 31 August to 9 September 2017. In the glass it shows a pale salmon hue with copper hints and exceptionally fine bubbles. The bouquet opens to forest berries (wild strawberry, raspberry), citrus (blood orange), floral and petal notes, evolving with hints of iodine, chocolate and spice. The palate is silky and caressing, the mid-palate weighted yet bright, combining concentrated fruit with fresh mineral and saline elements. It finishes with chalky tension and a clean, lingering impression of salinity.
