Alois Lageder Conus Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020 is a single-site expression from biodynamically farmed vineyards in Magreid, crafted by this Alto Adige pioneer founded in 1823. The Conus vineyard sits on warm, sandy soils with porphyry rock, ideal for Lagrein's power and depth. Grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented with native yeasts in open-top wooden vats, then aged for 18 months in a mix of large oak and barriques. The wine shows intense aromas of blackberry, violet, and dark spice, with muscular tannins and a savoury, mineral finish. A flagship Riserva with age-worthy structure.
