    • Description

Since 1930, Bodega Pichilemu has harnessed Chile's Colchagua Valley for value-driven wines, drawing on estate-grown fruit and a legacy of family ownership. The 2023 Panul Merlot is produced from hand-harvested grapes grown on alluvial soils, benefiting from the valley's warm days and cool Pacific breezes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by six months of maturation in a mix of French and American oak barrels to add complexity and soften tannins. The finished Merlot displays aromas of ripe plum, black cherry and subtle spice, with a medium-bodied palate framed by soft tannins and lively acidity. This wine is approachable in style, offering immediate drinking pleasure, but with enough structure for casual cellaring or pairing with a wide range of dishes.
