Description
A pinnacle of traditional sherry craftsmanship, Bodegas Hidalgo's Faraon Oloroso VORS 30 Years is the product of more than two centuries of expertise in Sanlucar de Barrameda. Family-owned since 1792, Hidalgo's deep reserves allow for exceptionally long solera maturation; in this case, the wine spends at least thirty years in American oak butts, earning the "Very Old Rare Sherry" (VORS) classification. Produced from Palomino Fino grapes grown on white albariza soils, the wine undergoes full oxidative ageing, developing layer upon layer of complexity. Bottled at 20% abv, it reveals powerful aromas of walnut, toffee, cigar box, dried fruit, and dark chocolate. The palate is dry, intense and textured, with a seamless integration of savoury and nutty flavours, lingering for minutes. This VORS Oloroso is a benchmark for connoisseurs, best enjoyed with strong blue cheeses, roasted meats or on its own as a contemplative digestif.
