Description
One of the great names of Sauternes, Château Suduiraut is a Premier Grand Cru Classé of 1855, located on 91 hectares of sandy-clay soil enriched with heat-retaining gravel. This distinctive terroir, coupled with rigorous vineyard and cellar selection, results in a wine that epitomises richness, balance, and complexity.
Since joining the Axa Millésimes family in 1992—alongside Châteaux Pichon Baron and Pibran—Suduiraut has continued to refine its style, with a clear focus on quality over quantity. The vineyard is planted predominantly to Sémillon (90%) with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc (10%), enhancing both body and aromatic freshness.
In 2024, the estate has crafted a wine that radiates brilliance and finesse. The golden hue mirrors the sunlight that helped shape it, while the palate offers layers of orchard fruit, acacia, roasted nuts, and candied citrus. Built for both immediate pleasure and long ageing, it will deepen in colour and complexity over the decades.
