Description
Churchill's Grafite Touriga Nacional is a single-varietal wine crafted from select high-elevation parcels in the Douro. Grapes are hand-picked at full phenolic ripeness and cold-soaked prior to fermentation to maximise colour and aromatic extraction. The wine is fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel, then matured for 12 months in second- and third-use French oak barrels to integrate tannin and build structure without imposing overt oak flavours. Bottled under cork at 13.5% ABV, it opens with lifted aromas of violets, wild blueberry, cassis, and a hint of Mediterranean herb. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced, with supple tannins, fresh acidity and notes of spice, plum and cocoa. This wine is a fine ambassador for the elegance of Douro Touriga Nacional and pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, herb-roast chicken, or aged cheeses, promising further complexity with cellaring.
