    • Description

Corofin, founded by Mike and Anna Paterson, specialises in small-batch Marlborough wines that highlight site and season through organic farming and minimal intervention. This regional Pinot Noir brings together parcels from several organically managed vineyards across the Wairau and Omaka valleys to create a transparent expression of Marlborough Pinot Noir.

Hand-picked fruit was destemmed and fermented in open vats with daily hand plunging to extract colour and fine tannins. After pressing, the young wine matured for around twelve months in French oak barriques, with minimal new oak to preserve fruit vibrancy.

The 2022 Pinot Noir is medium-bodied and expressive, showing lifted raspberry and plum fruit layered with subtle spice and savoury complexity. Supple tannins and bright acidity provide balance, making this an approachable yet refined Pinot Noir that reflects both vineyard character and Corofin's thoughtful winemaking.
