Description
Corofin, founded by Mike and Anna Paterson, produces terroir-focused Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from organically farmed Marlborough vineyards. Each bottling aims to express vineyard character with minimal intervention, allowing differences in site to define the wine.
The Settlement Pinot Noir 2022 is drawn from a north-facing vineyard in the Omaka Valley. This exposure, combined with heavier clay soils, delivers Pinot Noir with fragrance, supple structure and lifted aromatics. Hand-picked fruit was fermented with a small proportion of whole bunches to heighten perfume and fine tannin detail. The wine was then matured in older French barriques for just over twelve months to preserve site expression.
In the glass, Settlement Pinot Noir is graceful and floral, showing red cherry, rose petal and gentle spice. Silky tannins and bright acidity provide balance and length, resulting in a wine of elegance and precision that captures the finesse of its north-facing Omaka Valley site.
