Description
Founded in 1946 in Tain-l'Hermitage, Ferraton Pere & Fils selects classic, galet-strewn parcels across Chateauneuf-du-Pape for Le Parvis to bottle a clear, table-minded expression of the appellation. Grenache leads the blend, complemented by Syrah and Mourvedre that add colour, spice and frame. Hand-harvested fruit is fully destemmed, handled gently and fermented at controlled temperatures in tank to protect fruit detail; elevage then continues in large, neutral vessels to round tannins without overlaying oak spice, keeping terroir to the fore. In 2022 the wine shows generous black cherry and kirsch with sweet spice, garrigue and a light liquorice note over a warm-stone core. The palate is full but composed, tannins ripe and ample yet chalk edged, acidity fresh enough to carry length, and the finish savoury and persistent rather than sweet. It is a confident but measured Chateauneuf built for the table and for cellaring, balancing the appellation's natural richness with freshness, definition and a dry, steady close.
