Description
Established in 1946 in Tain-l'Hermitage, Ferraton Pere & Fils builds its Cotes du Rhone range around clarity of fruit and clean, modern cellar work. Samorens Rouge 2023 blends Grenache and Syrah sourced across the southern valley to deliver a supple, bistro friendly profile. Bunches are destemmed before fermentation in a mix of concrete and stainless steel, with extraction kept gentle to favour freshness over weight. Maturation takes place largely in tank so oak impact is minimal and the wine retains lift and definition. In the glass it is juicy and even, with red berry and plum at the fore, a line of spice and a light peppery thread. Tannins are soft and pliant, acidity is balanced, and the finish is dry and tidy rather than sweet. This is a versatile Rhone red built for everyday service, showing regional character without heaviness and reflecting Ferraton's reliable grower sourcing and precise temperature control from press to bottle.
