Description
The Langmeil Hangin' Snakes Shiraz 2023 is a vibrant and approachable expression of Barossa Shiraz, showcasing the region's hallmark richness with a fresh, modern edge. Sourced from several Barossa subregions including Dorrien, Bethany, Lights Pass and Moppa Hills, the fruit is hand-picked, fermented in open fermenters and matured for around 10 months in a mix of seasoned French and American oak barrels. Bottled at 14.5% ABV, it pours a deep crimson-purple and opens with lifted aromas of Satsuma plum, mulberry and violet, supported by hints of dried herb and white pepper. The palate is juicy and plush, offering dark berry and plum fruit layered with chocolate, spice and subtle oak tones. Fine, velvety tannins and balanced acidity give shape and structure, while a savoury, peppery finish lingers. Generous but refined, this wine is ready to enjoy on release yet will evolve gracefully over the next five to seven years.
