Description
The Langmeil Massimo Montepulciano Primitivo 2023 is a Barossa Valley red inspired by southern Italy’s bold, generous styles, blending Montepulciano and Primitivo grown in the region’s warm, dry climate. Sourced from low-yielding vineyards and hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the fruit was destemmed, fermented on skins for depth of colour and flavour, and matured in seasoned oak to preserve fruit vibrancy. The wine pours deep purple and opens with lifted aromas of red rose, ripe plum, blackberry and dried herb, layered with hints of black olive and spice. The palate is rich and plush yet balanced, with juicy blue and red fruits wrapped in supple, suede-like tannins and supported by bright acidity. A savoury undercurrent and gentle oak spice carry through a long, satisfying finish. Bottled at around 14.5% ABV, this is an expressive and food-friendly wine best enjoyed with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes or aged cheeses over the next five to seven years.
