Description
The Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a benchmark Marlborough white that captures the region’s signature vibrancy with added depth and texture. Sourced from estate and grower vineyards across the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness and fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve aromatic clarity, with a short period on lees to build palate weight and integration. Bottled at 13.5% ABV with 7.4 g/L total acidity, pH 3.05 and 4.5 g/L residual sugar, the wine is expressive yet refined. It opens with lifted aromas of lemongrass, blackcurrant bud, grapefruit zest and passionfruit, alongside hints of crushed herbs and citrus blossom. The palate is lively and focused, combining zesty lime, white pineapple and green apple flavours with a creamy, textural mouthfeel and vibrant acidity. A subtle herbal thread and saline edge carry through a long, crisp finish. This Sauvignon Blanc is immediately appealing on release but will gain complexity with short-term cellaring and pairs beautifully with shellfish, fresh salads and herb-driven dishes.
