Description
Peregrine is one of Central Otago's most celebrated organic producers, with a long record of capturing the region's alpine purity and expressive Pinot character. The 2022 Pinot Noir is hand harvested from Bendigo (51%) and Pisa (49%) sub regions of Central Otago. A combination of whole bunch and destemmed fruit fermented and hand plunged in open top fermenters, and matured for 10 months in French oak barrels for ten months. Bottled under Stelvin at 13.5% abv, the wine is vibrant and perfumed, offering aromas of dark cherry, wild thyme, violet and subtle oak spice. The palate is finely balanced, combining silken tannins and fresh acidity with persistent red fruit and a touch of earthiness. Peregrine Pinot Noir is suitable for early enjoyment or mid-term cellaring, ideal with duck, lamb or mushroom dishes, and stands as a reference point for Otago's modern, site-driven reds.
