    • Description

Pieropan's Calvarino is a historic single-vineyard Soave, first bottled in 1971 and grown on basalt-rich soils in the heart of the Soave Classico zone. The 2022 vintage is composed of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave from estate vines averaging over 30 years of age, farmed organically and harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs in glass-lined cement tanks, with extended lees contact for texture and complexity - no oak is used. The wine shows piercing minerality, with lime zest, chamomile and almond skin, and a long, focused finish. Age-worthy yet accessible, it's a reference point for volcanic white wine from Northern Italy.
