Wonderfully fruited and lifted, the bouquet shows dark berry, cured meat, tar, olive, and hazelnut aromas. This leads to a wonderfully weighted palate delivering terrific fruit intensity with gorgeous complexity. Wonderfully framed by silky texture and layers of polished tannins, it is bold and sturdy with a super-long, harmonious finish.

Moderately deep ruby-red with a dark core, even colour throughout. The nose is alluring and slowly evolving with aromas of red cherry, plum, lifted floral notes, mineral, spices and forest floor. Medium-bodied, with aromas of red cherry and plum interweaved with medicinal herbs, liquorice, lavender, mushroom and cinnamon. The sweet, pure fruit reveals depth and lifted aromatics, layering whole bunches' floral and herbaceous details. Velvety tannins provide an opulent grip and vitality, lingering to a long, savoury finish. This broody Bannockburn Pinot Noir is harmonious, well-structured and refined. Match with rack of lamb and roasted duck over the next 15 years.

Outstanding - Fantastic bouquet with a plush and elegance then ripe fruit scents of baked raspberry and boysenberry. Sweet oak layers the dark rose and clove spice layers. Dry on the palate with a core of ripe red berry fruit, fine tannins in abundance and acid line for length and freshness. Well-made and delicious, a drink now and age worthy example with best drinking from 2027 through 2037+.

Ripe and toasty with houjicha aromas adding dimension to the black fruit. The flavours continue apace on the powerful, sinewy and structured palate, framed by ripe, grippy tannins and an earthy, chocolaty finish. Very drying as the tannins build on the back. A winemaker's style of wine which needs some time to come together.

The 2023 Bannockburn Vineyard Pinot Noir is vibrant, lithe, spicy, saturated with red fruit flavor and persistent through the finish. In the mouth, the tannins are chalky, fine and pliable… This is a delicious wine of personality and elegance but, most importantly, of place.
