    • Description

Alois Lageder Schiava 2024 showcases one of Alto Adige's oldest native red varieties through the lens of a certified biodynamic estate founded in 1823. Grown on pergola-trained vines in the Dolomites' foothills, Schiava (aka Vernatsch) thrives in these high-altitude, glacially influenced sites. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel to preserve freshness, the wine sees no oak, resulting in a light-bodied, vibrantly aromatic red. Notes of sour cherry, wild strawberry, and delicate spice are framed by soft tannins and bright acidity - perfect served lightly chilled.
