    • Description

Corofin, the Marlborough project of Mike and Anna Paterson, is dedicated to small-lot wines that give voice to vineyard and place through organic farming and restrained winemaking. Each Pinot Noir bottling highlights the individuality of a single site.

The Wrekin Pinot Noir 2023 comes from the elevated Wrekin Vineyard, where volcanic soils and cooler nights produce Pinot fruit with depth and intensity. Hand-harvested grapes were partly fermented as whole clusters to add perfume and structure, before pressing and maturation in French oak barriques for just over a year.

The resulting wine is powerful yet refined, with layers of blackberry, blueberry and clove underpinned by savoury complexity. Firm tannins and a long, mineral-tinged finish reflect both the volcanic soils and Corofin's careful, low-intervention approach. This is a site-driven Pinot Noir of substance and character, built for both immediate enjoyment and graceful ageing.
