Description
Dow's, established in 1798 and now part of the Symington family group, crafts Fine Tawny Port from grapes sourced at estate vineyards and longstanding Douro growers, with a focus on the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior subregions. Grapes are hand-picked and vinified in a combination of stainless steel tanks and granite lagares to preserve fruit character and control extraction. The young wines are then transferred to seasoned oak casks for two to three years of ageing in Dow's cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia. The final blend brings together multiple recent vintages to achieve balance, consistency, and a fresh, approachable tawny style. Bottled at 19% abv under driven cork, this port offers notes of dried fruit, caramel, and toasted nuts, with a mellow texture and moderate sweetness. Ready to drink on release, Dow's Fine Tawny can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with lighter desserts and cheeses.
