Description
Dow’s, founded in 1798 and part of the Symington family group, produces Fine White Port from a blend of indigenous white grape varieties grown in the Douro Valley, primarily from estate vineyards and selected regional partners. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks with temperature control to preserve aromatic freshness. After fermentation, the young wine is aged for up to three years in large seasoned oak vats in Dow’s cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia. The final blend is assembled from several recent vintages for balance and house style. Bottled at 19% abv under driven cork, Dow’s Fine White Port offers notes of citrus, stone fruit, almond and floral hints, with moderate sweetness and a fresh finish. This white port can be served chilled as an aperitif, paired with salted almonds or olives, or used as a base for classic white port and tonic cocktails.
