Description
The Louis Roederer Brut Vintage 2016 is a single-harvest expression built around 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay from estate sites in Verzy (Pinot) and Chouilly (Chardonnay). Roughly 33% of the base wines were vinified in oak barrels, about 5% underwent malolactic fermentation, and the blend carries a dosage of 7 g/L. The wine was aged for about four years on lees plus a further six months post-disgorgement. It presents a glowing straw hue and fine, persistent bead. On the nose there's a mix of red berry, candied citrus, toasted brioche, hazelnut and chalky minerality. On the palate it is medium-to-full, offering a silky texture matched with salinity, vibrant acidity, fruit richness and a long, refined finish. This vintage balances depth and freshness and should evolve over the next decade.
