Description
The Louis Roederer Collection 244 Magnum (1.5 L) presents the same multi-vintage blend philosophy as its standard counterpart, scaled to magnum format. The wine is built around 54% of the 2019 vintage, supplemented by 36% perpetual reserve wines (dating from 2012–2018) and 10% oak-aged reserve wines, with about 35% of the base undergoing malolactic fermentation and a dosage of 7 g/L. The grape mix is 41% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 26% Meunier, drawing fruit from the "La Riviere", "La Montagne" and "La Cote" estates. Aged nearly four years on lees before disgorgement, the magnum version offers aromas of ripe stone fruit, citrus zest, floral notes, brioche and saline minerality, while the palate balances richness, chalky freshness and smoky undercurrents with a long, textured finish. The larger format further aids ageing, making this magnum a compelling option for both near-term drinking and medium-term cellaring.
