Description
The Misha's Vineyard The Cadenza Late Harvest Gewurztraminer 2024 is a richly expressive dessert wine from Central Otago’s Bendigo subregion, crafted to balance opulent sweetness with freshness and aromatic intensity. Fruit was hand-harvested late in the season on 6 June 2023 and allowed a short soak to enhance flavour concentration before gentle pressing and cool fermentation. The ferment was stopped early to retain around 121 g/L residual sugar, producing a wine of luscious texture and natural acidity. Bottled at 10.0% ABV with a pH of 3.53 and total acidity of 5.8 g/L, The Cadenza opens with perfumed aromas of lychee, rose petal, fresh pear and tropical fruits, supported by hints of ginger and nougat. The palate is silky and layered, offering exotic fruit and spice flavours balanced by a bright, cleansing acidity that keeps the wine from becoming cloying. Long and unctuous on the finish, it is delicious now and will develop further nuance through 2030. Its vibrant sweetness and floral intensity make it an outstanding match for fruit desserts, soft cheeses or lightly spiced Asian cuisine.
