Description
The Misha’s Vineyard The Starlet Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a finely tuned expression of Central Otago’s Bendigo subregion, showcasing the region’s ability to produce Sauvignon Blanc with both aromatic purity and structural depth. Sourced from north-facing slopes on free-draining schist soils, the fruit was hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve vibrant aromatics, with a short period on fine lees adding subtle texture and complexity. The wine opens with lifted aromas of lemon zest, gooseberry, fresh thyme and nettle, layered with hints of peach, pineapple and a touch of savoury dried herb that speaks to its Central Otago origins. The palate is crisp and precise, with concentrated citrus and tropical fruit flavours framed by lively acidity and a fine mineral thread. A saline edge and lingering finish give the wine tension and length. Bottled at 13% ABV, The Starlet is refreshing in youth yet structured enough to evolve gracefully over the next three to six years.
