Description
The Misha's Vineyard Verismo Pinot Noir 2019 is the flagship expression from this Bendigo estate, crafted to deliver depth, structure and ageworthiness from Central Otago’s schist-rich soils. Fruit from select parcels was hand-harvested at full maturity and fermented in small open-top vessels with gentle extraction before maturation in French oak, a portion of which was new, to build complexity and finesse. Bottled at 14.0% ABV, the wine shows a deep garnet hue and an intricate bouquet of raspberry, cherry, pomegranate and ripe cranberry layered with spice, smoke, forest floor and stony minerality. The palate is dry, concentrated and finely structured, combining red and dark fruits with savoury spice, mushroom and mineral nuances. Firm yet silky tannins and lively acidity drive a long, persistent finish, and the wine will continue to evolve beautifully through to 2036. Its depth and savoury complexity also make it outstanding with food, pairing particularly well with dishes such as roast duck, venison, lamb, or earthy mushroom-based cuisine.
