    • Description

Nanny Goat Chardonnay 2024 is a premium white wine from Central Otago, New Zealand, crafted by Nanny Goat Vineyard. The vineyard is situated in the Queensberry region, known for its unique terroir and commitment to producing wines of exceptional quality. The 2024 vintage continues this tradition, offering a wine that reflects the distinctive characteristics of its origin.

The grapes for this Chardonnay are sourced from the estate's single-vineyard site, ensuring a focused expression of the land. The winemaking process involves hand-picking the fruit, followed by whole bunch pressing to stainless steel tanks. After a brief period of settling, the juice is transferred to 500-litre French oak puncheons, with 20% new oak, for natural fermentation. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation in barrel and is aged for 10 months with occasional lees stirring to enhance texture and complexity. This method results in a wine that balances richness with freshness.

In the glass, Nanny Goat Chardonnay 2024 presents a pale golden hue. The nose is expressive, with aromas of citrus fruits, white florals, and subtle toasty oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with flavors of stone fruits, a hint of nuttiness from the yeast lees, and a touch of vanilla. The acidity is well-integrated, providing a clean and refreshing finish.

This Chardonnay pairs well with a variety of dishes, including roasted poultry, seafood, and creamy pasta dishes. Its balance of fruit, oak, and acidity makes it a versatile choice for both casual and formal occasions.
