Description
Pegasus Bay make one of the finest Pinots in the country with their Estate label - and their Prima Donna label stands yet another tier above – it’s only made in the very best vintages. Like many winegrowers, Pegasus Bay had a nearly perfect vintage with a cool spring followed by a sunny summer and lingering dry autumn in 2015. Weighing in at a perfectly balanced 13.5% alcohol, it tastes much more powerful, a testament to the low cropping and concentration of the ancient vines. Definitely better for a decant, this wine kept blossoming in the glass for an hour or more, throwing off its oak cloak and expressing wild herbs and game notes to go with the densely packed fruit profile.
