Description
Ramos Pinto LBV 2017 is a traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port from the esteemed Ramos Pinto estate in Portugal's Douro Valley. The 2017 vintage is a blend of 59% Touriga Nacional, 32% Touriga Franca, 7% Tinta Cao, and 2% Tinta Barroca.
The grapes are hand-harvested from the estate's Quintas of Ervamoira and Bom Retiro, then foot-trodden in traditional lagares. Fermentation lasts 3 to 5 days, followed by aging in 15,000-litre wooden casks in Vila Nova de Gaia. The wine is unfiltered, preserving its full fruit potential and capacity for aging.
This LBV presents a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe red fruits like raspberry and blueberry, complemented by floral notes of lavender and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is rich and dense, with integrated tannins and a long, flavourful finish.
Ideal served slightly chilled between 14-18°C, Ramos Pinto LBV 2017 pairs well with game dishes, red meats, cheese soufflé, Serra cheese, and chocolate desserts
