    • Description

Founded by Tom Hutchison and Fiona Fenwick, Rock Ferry is an organic Marlborough estate dedicated to wines that express vineyard character with clarity and integrity.

Fruit for the 2020 Corners Chardonnay was sourced from mature vines at The Corners vineyard. Grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented in a combination of French oak barriques, puncheons and a large oak cuve. The wine then matured sur-lie for ten months with occasional stirring, building texture and savoury complexity while preserving freshness.

The finished wine is concentrated and finely balanced, offering aromas of nectarine, citrus zest and lemon curd, supported by almond and subtle brioche from time on lees. The palate is richly textured yet precise, combining ripe stone fruit with taut acidity and a persistent mineral finish. A Chardonnay of depth and poise, it is expressive now but will reward further cellaring.
