    • Description

Rock Ferry, founded by Tom Hutchison and Fiona Fenwick, is an organic Marlborough estate producing wines that reflect site and varietal character with precision. The steep Trig Hill vineyard provides fruit of intensity and natural freshness.

In 2023, Pinot Gris from Trig Hill was hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation took place across stainless steel and seasoned oak vessels, followed by eight months of maturation in a large neutral cuve. This approach built texture and layered complexity while retaining purity of fruit.

The resulting wine is off-dry and expressive, showing ripe pear, quince and citrus blossom with hints of spice. The palate is soft and creamy yet finely balanced, supported by gentle acidity and a clean mineral finish. A distinctive Marlborough Pinot Gris that is both generous and refined.
