    • Description

Rock Ferry, founded by Tom Hutchison and Fiona Fenwick, is an organic Marlborough estate with vineyards in both Marlborough and Central Otago. The Trig Hill vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago, is a high-altitude site where Riesling develops great intensity, freshness and longevity.

For the 2015 vintage, fruit was hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed. Most of the juice was cool-fermented in stainless steel to preserve precision and aromatic lift, while a smaller portion was fermented in neutral French oak barrels for subtle texture and depth. The wine then rested on lees for six months, adding palate weight and savoury complexity.

The finished wine is taut and finely structured, with vibrant flavours of lime, grapefruit and citrus zest overlaid with wet-stone minerality. A backbone of crisp acidity drives the long, dry finish, making this a Riesling of both immediate appeal and excellent cellaring potential.
