    • Description

Schubert Wines, founded by Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling in Martinborough, is renowned for Pinot Noir crafted with Burgundian precision. Block B is one of the estate’s most celebrated parcels, planted to Dijon clones on deep alluvial gravels, producing wines of intensity, structure and longevity.

In 2022, grapes from Block B were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, with careful cap management to extract colour and tannin without losing finesse. The young wine was then matured for eighteen months in French oak barriques, 45% new, contributing depth and savoury complexity.

The finished Pinot Noir is powerful yet refined, showing concentrated dark-cherry and blackberry fruit layered with spice and subtle oak. Firm tannins and fresh acidity frame the palate, leading to a long, mineral-etched finish. A structured and cellar-worthy Martinborough Pinot Noir, Block B represents one of the estate’s benchmark expressions.
