    • Description

Schubert Wines, established in Martinborough by German winemakers Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling, is known for its organically farmed vineyards and European-inspired winemaking. Their Chardonnay showcases a balance of New World fruit purity with Old World structure and finesse.

The 2023 vintage was hand-harvested and gently pressed, with juice run directly to French oak barrels for fermentation. The wine matured on lees with periodic stirring, adding texture and complexity, and completed malolactic fermentation to soften acidity and build richness.

The resulting Chardonnay is layered and refined, offering ripe stone-fruit character alongside notes of brioche and subtle flinty minerality. A taut acid line provides freshness, while barrel ageing contributes depth and length. This Martinborough Chardonnay combines precision with elegance and has the structure to develop further with cellaring.
