Description
Tolpuddle Pinot Noir 2023 hails from the acclaimed Tolpuddle Vineyard in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, established in 1988 and purchased by Shaw + Smith in 2011. This cool-climate site, with north-east facing slopes and moderate maritime influence, produces low-yielding, intensely flavoured Pinot Noir. Hand-picked fruit was fermented with partial whole bunches and matured in French oak (about 30% new) for 10 months. The result is finely structured, aromatic Pinot with vivid red cherry, spice and mineral edge. Vibrant now, but with cellaring potential over the next decade.
