    • Description

Tolpuddle Vineyard, established in 1988 in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, has quickly become one of Australia's most celebrated single-site estates for Chardonnay. The 2024 Tolpuddle Chardonnay is sourced from low-yielding, north-east facing vines planted on ancient limestone soils. Hand-harvested fruit is whole-bunch pressed and wild-fermented, then matured in French oak barrels (about 30% new) for nine months with regular lees stirring. This cool-climate Chardonnay is defined by piercing citrus and white peach aromas, layered with flint and cashew from sensitive barrel ageing. Taut and saline, it's built for both immediate enjoyment and extended cellaring, especially with fresh seafood or fine poultry.
