Description
The 2021 Warramate Marsanne Roussanne is a Yarra Valley expression of the great white blends of France’s northern Rhone. Sourced from the elevated Warramate vineyard, this wine brings together 60% Marsanne and 40% Roussanne in a harmonious, textural style.
Hand-harvested fruit was treated with precision: the Marsanne portion was fermented in stainless steel to capture lifted aromas of pear, apple, and citrus blossom, while the Roussanne was fermented and matured in seasoned French oak for nine months, layering in savoury depth, honeyed notes, and gentle spice.
The result is fragrant and alluring, with aromas of fresh pear, honeysuckle, and subtle almond. The palate is medium-bodied, showing orchard fruit and white florals wrapped in a delicate creamy texture, balanced by bright natural acidity and a mineral finish.
A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled seafood, or creamy pasta, and will also reward short-term cellaring for added complexity. A distinctive and elegant take on Rhone-inspired whites from the Yarra Valley.
